— 01 / About

Julian Tracht

Hi, I'm

For over five years I've been building digital solutions for companies that want more than templates off the shelf – solutions that truly fit.

My focus is fullstack web development, app engineering and end-to-end digitalization projects – from the first idea through technical architecture to launch and beyond, for companies across Germany, personally supported from Schwarzenbek near Hamburg.

What drives me? The conviction that every business has unique requirements – and that good software must reflect that uniqueness. Instead of off-the-shelf solutions, I build software that feels like it was made specifically for you. Because it was.

Tech Stack

What I

Tools that have proven themselves across ten projects — no religious wars about frameworks, just the right thing for the problem. Languages and libraries change; good architecture stays.

How I

No standard workflow. Phases vary by project and task — some start with a prototype, others with a concept sketch, others with an audit. The four steps below are a typical frame, not a corset.

  1. 01

    Discovery call

    ~30–60 min

I explore informally what you need, what you envision – and whether we're a good fit. No pitch, no pressure.

  2. 02

    Concept

    1–2 weeks

I put together a concrete concept: architecture, scope, timeline, budget. Transparent and straightforward.

  3. 03

    Development

    Project-dependent

Agile development with regular updates. You're always in the loop – no black-box development.

  4. 04

    Launch

    Final

Deployment, handover, onboarding. And I remain available as your point of contact going forward.

Ready to think your business

Maybe you have a clear plan. Maybe just a hunch that something could run more efficiently. Both are a good starting point – in a discovery call we find out what actually fits you. Free, no obligation, no sales pitch.

— FAQ

Common

The questions that come up first in most discovery calls — answered briefly here in case you're wondering the same.

How long does a typical project take?

Heavily scope-dependent. A clickable prototype takes a few days, an MVP web app usually 6–10 weeks, a full platform 3–6 months. I give an honest estimate with a ceiling before the project starts.

Do you work remote or on-site?

Both. The default is remote with regular video updates. On-site meetings around Hamburg are possible, further travel on request. Travel costs are not included in the rates.

Will you sign an NDA?

Happily. Send me your NDA before the discovery call so it's signed by the time we start. If you don't have a template, I'll provide a lean standard contract.

What's the first step?

A 30–60-minute video discovery call — free, no obligation, no sales pitch. I listen, ask questions, and tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit for your project.

Which tech stacks do you prefer?

No religious wars. TypeScript / Node.js on the backend, Vue / Angular / React on the frontend, Python and KNIME for data pipelines, C# for desktop apps. I pick the tool to fit the problem, not the other way around.

Can I book just a workshop or an audit?

Yes. Architecture reviews, code audits, and in-house workshops (TypeScript, architecture, AI for mid-market) are standalone formats. See pricing for hourly rates.

Roughly what does a project cost?

Fixed price or time-and-materials — depending on the project. For clearly scoped work I'm happy to quote a fixed price; for open-ended work, a day or hour budget with a ceiling. Concrete rates are on the pricing page.

Do you handle maintenance and support after launch?

Yes. After launch I offer maintenance, updates, and further development — on demand or as a monthly retainer. Your app stays secure and current without you building an in-house team.

Who owns the code in the end?

You do — entirely. On payment, all rights to the code transfer to you, including repository access. No vendor lock-in, no hidden licences.

Can you take over an existing project?

Often, yes. I start with a short code and architecture audit to gauge risk and effort, and tell you honestly whether taking it over, refactoring, or rebuilding makes more sense.

How does collaboration and communication work?

Transparently, at your pace. You get regular updates, access to the project board, and one fixed point of contact — me. No ticket hotline, no account manager in between.
